History of the company
Jean-Claude Cayer launched his firm in September 1988 because he wanted to offer high-quality pneumatic tools
and related accessories to Eastern Ontario contractors. In the beginning, he operated his business from home on a
part-time basis, evenings and week-ends. Even early on, clients were numerous, attracted by quality products and
service.
In 1989, Jean-Claude added Hitachi and Bostitch products to better meet the specific needs of flooring contractors. In 1997, he had to build a new, larger shop to accommodate ever-increasing customers and stocks of nails, staples,
and other related products.
In 1998, Jean-Claude left his other job in order to serve full-time his large clientele. He added the Paslode and
Ramset lines for contractors in the framing and finishing fields. The business now had two sales representatives and
one technician, thus assuring a greater presence at both the shop and on job sites.
In 2000, Jean-Claude added Rol-Air compressors, Dewalt and Makita power tools, Primatech hardwood flooring
nailers, Quik Drive screw systems, and Stanley hand tools.
The following year, he bought a retail mall in Limoges South-East of Ottawa and adapted a 12,000-square-foot
section for his own business. He included a large, unique showroom where customers can shop amongst a large
selection of high-quality tools and benefit from the knowledge of experienced and friendly staff.
In 2002, he added the following lines: Topring pneumatic products, Eagle compressors, Stilleto hammers, along
with Porter Cable, Delta, Trademaster, and Fein electric tools. The official opening of these new facilities was held
on June 22nd. Numerous suppliers had set up demonstration booths around the site and a large crowd of
participants benefited from savvy advice, superb prices, and numerous participation gifts.
In May 2007, Jean-Claude Cayer Enterprises LTD expanded the potential of growing by starting an online eBay Store along with selling on it's website.
